Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interior of a building to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space. An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such projects.
Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design. During their course, students acquire the knowledge and mastery of the different tools necessary for the varied technical, aesthetic or marketing sectors of the interior design and product design, as well as the ability to adapt to communication and interactive situation interior designers work with interior spaces to make them visually and physically pleasing. While decorating the space is a prime responsibility, interior designers might also focus on architectural aspects of the space, such as crown molding to work in the field of interior design requires post secondary education.
